Thank you for submitting a game to 2012.

This list is meant to showcase excellent, fully-fleshed-out, major release indie games for 2012.

I leave this definition up to you, the submitter. If you made a game, but for whatever reason you don't think it's truly exceptional, please don't submit it. If you do submit it, however, I won't make a judgement on whether or not it deserves to be on the list. I'm not curating; instead, think of it as the honour system.

Secondary rules:

• Ludum Dare or other limited-time competition/jam entries are not allowed. By definition, they aren't major releases, no matter how awesome. A fully-fleshed out game that started as a jam game is another situation, of course.
• I reserve the right to not accept something if I think it's spam, though. What I fear is a million iOS or other mobile submissions from marketing types. If that's you, I do get it, but sorry-- this just isn't the place.
• The game must have been released in 2012. It can't just be that it was released for a new platform in 2012.
• HD or major remakes (e.g., Spelunky, La-Mulana) are OK, since they are major releases and not just ports.
• The game must have a website that is mainly informational. The informational page will be linked, not the "buy now" page. If there is only a download link (Mediafire/etc.) or a Steam page, it can't be listed. A forum thread is discouraged, but allowed, since I know that's just how some of you roll...
• Betas are strongly discouraged, unless they are really fully-fleshed-out betas. For instance, Proteus is in "beta" but it's really a full game that was released this year.
• If information is missing, misspelled, broken or bad or whatever I may ignore it.
• If you submit a game that you didn't create, I may contact the creator to make sure they want it listed.
• If a creator contacts me to have a game removed, I'll remove it.
• Prices won't be shown, even if FREE.
• The format for this website and listing is up to me.
• Finally, when it comes to adding or removing submitted games, well, I'll do it whenever I get around to it. ;-)
